Example #1 - Create a data portal map from a data set

Let's start with something simple.  You see a data set that has lots of addresses and it'd be a lot easier to make sense of it in a map.  You can use built-in tools of the data portal to create a map that shows the locations.

We’ll do this with the graffiti data.  You can look at a huge table of 311 requests to remove graffiti or one map that shows the location of each spot of graffiti.  The map is a much better way to understand the locations and extent of graffiti in the city.

We’ll start with a table of graffiti data:

We'll create a map to show the locations of each spot of graffiti:

Finally, we'll save this map as a view to be re-used in the future.
